Temperament insight
A shared starting point for exploring your needs, strengths, and patterns.
At Be Well Christian Counseling, understanding your temperament is where your counseling journey begins.
Every client starts with an APS Temperament Survey, giving us a foundation for exploring your needs, relationships, and goals together.
The Arno Profile System (APS) is a temperament assessment used in Christian counseling to explore your natural tendencies—how you relate to others, respond to situations, and experience personal needs.
Within this approach, temperament refers to your underlying disposition. Your experiences, beliefs, choices, and circumstances also matter. Together, these help us understand the person behind the concerns you bring to counseling.
Your story matters. Your results offer a starting point for conversation. We explore them together, with room for your questions and lived experience.
It can be difficult to explain why certain situations feel overwhelming or why the same conflicts keep returning. APS gives you and your counselor a starting point for exploring those experiences.
Select a topic to learn more.
Explore your strengths, needs, and patterns with compassion and curiosity. Together, you and your counselor can consider how these insights relate to your everyday life.
Find words for feelings and experiences that may have been difficult to explain. Your results can help open conversations about what you need and where you feel challenged.
Explore how differences in needs and communication may contribute to misunderstandings. These conversations create opportunities to practice listening, express needs, and consider healthier responses.
Work with your counselor to connect relevant insights with your goals and develop strategies that fit your circumstances. You can revisit and adjust those steps as counseling continues.
Temperament understanding is a core part of our counseling process. We return to these insights throughout your sessions, connecting them with the concerns and goals that matter to you.

Your counselor explains the findings and invites you to share how they relate to your experience.
Together, you connect those insights with your counseling goals and identify steps toward growth.
No prior knowledge is needed. Your counselor will walk through your results with you, explain unfamiliar terms, and make space for your questions.
Share that with your counselor. Your perspective matters, and exploring where a result fits—or does not fit—can be a valuable part of the conversation.
Your sessions focus on you and your counseling goals. We use temperament insights alongside your personal story, current concerns, and ongoing feedback.
